Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Momen urges Indian counterpart Jaishankar to send promised AstraZeneca shots

    Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen yesterday (18 May 2021) urged his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar to send the promised AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine here as soon as possible to meet up immediate second dose vaccine requirements in the country.

    He made the urge during a telephone conversation to the Indian external affairs minister, a foreign ministry press release said here on 18 May 2021.

    Dr Momen also urged Jaishankar to lobby with the US so that Bangladesh could get access a portion of the US’s surplus vaccine.

    In reply, the Indian foreign minister said he is aware about the Bangladesh’s need of vaccine and assured that he would urge the US in this regard.
