COVID-19: 40 die as total infected crosses 47,000 on 31 May 2020 in Bangladesh

40 people have died with coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said on 31 May 2020.

The death toll now stands at 650, and the death rate is at 1.38 percent, Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of DGHS, said during the briefing.

 

2,545 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of infected has reached 47,151.

A total of 11,876 samples were tested in 52 labs across the country in the last 24 hours, Dr Nasima said.

Meanwhile, 406 COVID-19 patients have recovered since yesterday, taking the total number of recovered patients to 9,781 and recovery rate to 20.74 percent, the DGHS official added.
